The Brummel House in Pilsen

Steve Brummel, our venerated President Emeritus, was in the Czech Republic this month. He sat for an interview at the Brummel House in Pilsen, as Prague TV is making a documentary about the influential Austrian/Czech architect Adolf Loos. Loos designed and supervised the construction of the Brummel House in 1927-28. Exactly 50 years later, Steve had orchestrated the Brummel House's salvation from destruction at the hands of the Communist city authorities.
Steve was interviewed as were his Czech cousins, who, once the House was returned to the Brummel family, have made sure the House does not fall into oblivion.
The international historic preservation organization Iconic Houses is behind the documentary, so hopefully the film should be distributed worldwide in English when it is ready – in about a year.

Steve met with the film maker, David Cysar (see here). David has also saved and restored an Adolf Loos house belonging to his Jewish family in Prague.
