It is that time of year again for the IJC High Holidays Appeal. Each year, the IJC sets a fundraising goal to help make the IJC a cherished place for everyone.

Our goal last year was to raise €20,000. Sarah Wheaton gave our Appeal Testimony, sharing some of her Jewish history, her involvement with the Religious Affairs Committee, and what the IJC means to her. Our members enthusiastically rose to the challenge, and we reached our goal. The Board, Rabbi Brian, and all those who volunteer in various roles for the IJC are very grateful for your support.

Over the last year, there have been several discussions with our membership about how we can have more of the IJC — more activities, more ways to get to know each other better, more opportunities to have fun together, and more opportunities to learn. These discussions have resulted in a number of initiatives.

To support these efforts, we are setting a goal for 5787 of €25,000.  Please donate here.

When you attend the High Holidays, you will receive a personally addressed envelope with a pledge card inside, where you can indicate the amount you wish to pledge this year. You will also hear the inspiring testimony of David Sapiro.

You may be wondering what the Appeal supports. This year, your donations will help us:

  • Create the Donkey Mobile App to deepen community engagement

  • Increase the number of activities our members are calling for

  • Ensure our activities are better publicized

  • Provide stronger administrative support for our growing range of activities and programmes

  • Support salary of Rabbi Brian in his pastoral role.

  • Pay the rent for the beautiful synagogue that houses our IJC services and activities for most of the year.

Membership dues alone do not cover all of the costs of running the IJC, including our synagogue rent and the costs of our Rabbi and Administrator. Your support through the High Holidays Appeal helps us meet these costs while giving us the resources to continue developing and strengthening our community.

We count on the support of as many members and visitors as possible who find IJC to be worthwhile and meaningful in their lives. No amount is too small. Give what you can.
