Rosh Chodesh

A Rosh Chodesh women’s group meets every month on a Wednesday evening at a member's home. The meeting starts with candle lighting and blessing for the new month. It is followed by a presentation or discussion of the chosen theme. Topics for the year cover a broad range of themes of Jewish interest.

Rosh Chodesh is a holiday given to Jewish women, which occurs every month. It commemorates the women who refused to contribute their jewelry to build the golden calf. The holiday occurs on the sighting of the new moon at the start of each Jewish month.
