The IJC organizes lay-led monthly Kabbalat Shabbat services in Leuven during term time, in addition to its regular services in Brussels. Largely attended by Jewish students, staff, families and friends, as well as Jews living and working in and around the city, the services are conducted with the same warm, welcoming atmosphere that permeates IJC Brussels services.
We also regularly welcome visitors from all over the world, students on Erasmus and other exchange programs, guest professors, and researchers. The multi-national and multi-cultural community enjoys a potluck dinner after each service (to which everyone contributes). Occasional Saturday morning services led by IJC’s rabbi are also organized.
Look for the official IJC stand at KU Leuven’s annual Information Fair during Orientation Days for international students.
Students are eligible for a reduced IJC membership fee. Paid memberships include tickets for all the High Holiday services held in Brussels. Transport is available- please email us to arrange it.
