Becoming a Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah at the IJC is a special experience, which a child and his or her family will remember for the rest of their lives.
Our Bnei Mitzvah process is rigorous and demanding. The rabbi holds high expectations of his students. At the same time, we strive to tailor-make each Bar or Bat Mitzvah to fit the special needs of every individual child.
Each Bar or Bat Mitzvah must attend Hebrew School for at least one year before their actual ceremony, as well as all Shabbat and holiday services. We find that the more children put into the community and engage with it, getting to know the IJC and its members, the more satisfying and rewarding their Bar or Bat Mitzvah experience and ceremony will be.
